FIRE crews rescued a man who had fallen down a trench at a construction site in Southampton and broken his leg.
Four crews from St Mary's and Redbridge fire stations were called to the WestQuay Watermark site in Harbour Parade at about 1am.
The man, a construction worker, was working down a 6ft trench and suffered the leg break when he was hit by a pipe that was being moved.
He was brought out of the trench by the fire crews and taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment by an ambulance crew.
