MORE than 1,000 youngsters in Hampshire are in for a treat this Easter thanks to the efforts of a recruitment agency.

Staff at Reed Recruitment in Southampton collected 1,089 chocolate eggs for children and vulnerable teenagers who receive support from 12 Hampshire charities.

Nicky Faulkner, business manager at the Cumberland Place office, organised the event with hopes of beating last year’s tally of about 850.

Three businesses – Swanmore Technology College, Optimus Flowers in Fareham and Wickham Laboratories in Gosport – each collected more than 100 eggs.

Nicky said: “It’s good to know that children in need across Hampshire will be getting Easter eggs this year.

“We couldn’t possibly have delivered these eggs without the use of SourceTech’s vans.”

The eggs will be divided up among youngsters supported by Home-Start, domestic abuse charity Fareham & Gosport Family Aid, the children’s ward at Southampton General Hospital, Motiv8, homelessness charity Two Saints, and disabled children supported by Hampshire Autistic Society, Mencap, The Rainbow Centre, The Elizabeth Foundation and Kids South-East.
