HAMPSHIRE is set to feature in what is expected to be one of the biggest films of all time.

Scenes in Avengers: Age of Ultron were filmed in the county in summer 2014 ahead of the blockbuster’s release next week.

The A-list cast and crew, which includes Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans, spent several days filming at Hawley Common and Stratfield House in north Hampshire.

One of the film’s location managers, Charlotte Wright, said: “Hampshire has some really unique and outstanding locations to offer the film industry and we are always grateful to the local communities who are affected by filming.

“The locals were fantastic and all very excited to find out what it was we were filming and what Hollywood stars they could potentially get site of in their woods.”

The filming was made possible through Film Hampshire, part of the county council’s economic development service.

With around 400 film locations on offer, previous productions in Hampshire have included TV’s Downton Abbey and Wolf Hall, as well as movies such as Mission Impossible 5, World War Z with Brad Pitt, The Da Vinci Code, and Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise.
