A WOMAN was rescued from a flat fire in the early hours of the morning.
The teenager phoned the emergency services after finding the blaze beginning to tear through her Southampton home.
Rescue teams entered the property in Defender Road, Woolston as smoke filled the rooms at 1.45am.
The 19-year-old was treated for smoke inhalation.
It is unclear what caused the fire.
A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance said: “We were called at 1.45am to reports of a house fire and sent one ambulance crew who assessed and treated a woman at the scene but she did not require hospital treatment.”
