A MAN has tonight been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car in Southampton.
The pedestrian was walking in Hill Lane close to the Archers Road junction when he was in collision with the vehicle at 9.50pm.
Paramedics arrived to take him to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance.
A police spokesman confirmed the man had been struck but said his injuries are not thought to be serious at this time.
A spokeswoman from South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) also confirmed the casualty had been taken to hospital but did not know the nature of his injuries.
Officers closed part of the road for more than 30 minutes while crews worked.
The spokesman said the ambulance crews were also called to another incident further down the road but it is not known what happened or whether they are linked.
