CHANCELLOR George Osborne is visiting Hampshire again today and announcing plans to create thousands of jobs and plough £2.4b into the South Coast's transport system.
During a visit to GE Aviation in Hamble, Mr Osborne spelled out a series of pledges for what a Conservative-led Government would invest in the region.
He has pledged that 120,000 new jobs would be created in the South East, alongside 200,000 apprenticeships, 75,000 new primary school places and 30 hours of free childcare a week.
His plans also include £2.4b of transport investment on the South Coast that would include £350m investment in local roads, including a Chickenhall link road and Botley bypass.
It would also include work to turn junction six of the M27 into an all-way junction to cut congestion, while the Chancellor says his party would use a review of the South West Trains franchise to introduce newer trains and faster journey times.
He said: “Our plan for the working people of the South Coast is clear, specific and ambitious.
“It is a long term economic plan with a timetable for delivery, each year bringing new investment and new jobs.”
