POLICE are hunting a teenager after a schoolboy was mugged on Southampton Common.

The 15-year-old was walking in the common when an older teenager punched him and stole his mobile phone.

The attacked fled in the direction of Bellmoor Road once he had the phone.

The older youth is described as aged between 16-19, 5ft 7ins tall and of stocky build.

He wore a navy blue hooded top, thought to be Adidas branded, with distinctive black lines on both arms, grey jogging bottoms and red and black Nike Air Force trainers with bright yellow laces.

Detective Constable Lucy Nagra said: “This is a serious incident that had left a young man injured and frightened.

“The robbery occurred in the middle of the day on Saturday and we would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or a man matching the offender's description.

“Any information you have is valuable and may assist with our enquiries.”
