HE has travelled more than 29,000 miles this season to follow the fortunes of Saints – but that is nothing odd for Norway's biggest Southampton supporter.

Season ticket holder Oddson Knoff – or known by friends as ‘Odd’ will soon celebrate his 50th anniversary as a Saints fan today - and hopes that a vital Saints victory against Aston Villa will make the occasion memorable.

Oddson, 59, who lives Stavanger in Norway journey to St Mary's takes him roughly six hours - which works out as eight minutes of travel for each minute of football he sees on the pitch.

Odd started supporting Saints back in 1965, after being impressed by their tough tackling at the time. It was in 1989 when he first visited The Dell, and he has not looked back since.

It comes as the Daily Echo backs the #WeMarchOn campaign as the Saints push forward for a place in Europe next season.

And he celebrates his anniversary as Saints reveal next season's new kit.

But Ronald Koeman’s side desperately need to hold-off a late charge from Swansea and pick up points in their final two games against Villa and Manchester City – or perhaps rely on Arsenal beating Aston Villa in the FA Cup Final.

Oddson who works as engineer is a regular in the Northam stand has been delighted with Saints season, which has seen them on the verge of European qualification.

Oddson, said: “I'm a Saints fan, I really mean it. There's nothing more I like to do on a Saturday but see my Saints play. I love Ronald Koeman he is doing a real good job.

“My favourite players this season are Sadio Mane, Graziono Pelle, and Maya Yoshida. But my all time favourite player is the only Matt Le Tissier.”

“To see Saints go to Europe will be a dream. From where we were in League One to almost going out of business and the way we have came forward proves that Saints are a family and in my heart.”
