Fire-fighters tackled a blaze in aa tower block fire after fire broke out in a flat.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue said it was called out at 1.47pm yesterday to a fire in a 15 storey block on Graham Street, in Northam, Southampton.
Five fire engines were dispatched along with three ambulances, which included a hazardous area response team.
Four crews with breathing apparatus were sent into the block as smoke belched out of the 14 floor and into the corridor leading to a flat where a fire was raging in its lounge.
Residents on the floor affected and the one above were evacuated.
The resident, believed to be a single man, was not at home at the time. No-one else was hurt. More to follow.
Graham Street is currently cordoned off.
