FITNESS fanatics raised more than £2,300 for charity with a gruelling challenge.
Pupils from Maine B, a boys boarding house at Christ’s Hospital in Horsham, held an event at Bluecoat Sports Centre to raise money for Cancer Research UK and My New Hair – causes close to the hearts of a number of the boys. The event was organised by the students with the aim of each accumulating as much mileage as possible within a five-hour period. The 46 Maine B boys were able to do this by either cycling, swimming, rowing or running.
The boys amassed 1,750km between them, the equivalent of travelling from Horsham to Morocco.
The housemaster of Maine B David Mulae said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the boys. There were some outstanding personal achievements and the team spirit was quite amazing. Congratulations boys.”
