THE SHOW must go on for one circus family who will be performing in Southampton today.

With all the excitement of a circus coming to the city the ring master's son couldn't wait to be born.

Now four-day-old Sebastian is the smallest addition to the big top family and his show manager mum is already back to work preparing a dazzling performance for children across the city.

In the middle of getting the tent ready for the Circus with a Purpose show in Riverside Park, Oana Balaci and her performer husband Robert Price had to rush to hospital for the arrival of their second son.

He was born at 12.30pm on Saturday weighing 7 lb 9 and after a few days recovering Oana is back to work.

The 30-year-old said: "I'm just one of those people that likes to keep busy. The birth went really well and Sebastien is a lovely, happy, healthy baby so I felt fine to go back to work.

"Our work involves travelling across the UK to put on circus performances for children who may not normally get the chance to go, so when you do something to put a smile on their faces everyday it's a very rewarding job and it felt natural to go back and make sure today's show runs smoothly."

Oana is the brains behind the operation according to her ringmaster husband, Robert, with whom she also has a two-year-old son, Robert Junior, fondly known as Boo-Boo.

She added: "We are all used to packing up into a caravan to go on to the next place and Boo-Boo is brilliant at it having grown up with the circus, it's a very exciting life and now even more so as we have another addition to the troupe."

The circus, organised by Circus Starr will run for two shows at the park in Manor Farm Road with one at 4.45pm and another at 7pm and everyone is welcome to buy tickets at the door.
