STAFF at a Southampton building society branch swapped banking for birthday celebrations to mark a customer's 100th birthday.
Centenarian Violet Fibbens was treated to the surprise birthday bash at the Yorkshire Building Society branch in Above Bar Street.
Colleagues at the branch organised the surprise after finding out the milestone birthday was on the horizon.
The team invited her in to the branch to receive a signed birthday card and bouquet of flowers.
Violet has lived in Southampton all her life and lives in the city centre, let guests in on her secret to a long and happy life.
Mrs Fibbens said: “Fish and chips and the odd gin and tonic. I enjoy all types of food and keep full of energy. Throughout my life I've done all sorts of sports, including swimming, dancing and tennis.”
