GOLFERS are getting set to tee-off in support of Hampshire's heart patients.

Wessex Heartbeat's annual golfing extravaganza is back and this year is set to be bigger and better than before.

Dozens of golfers will compete on one of the UK's top courses before a night of entertainment with an array of sporting celebrities and Sky golf presenter Ewen Murray.

Entertainer Mike Osman from Southampton will also join in the fun as he comperes the evening question and answer event.

But time is running out to book tickets for the prestigious event at the 18-hole Goodwood Golf Club.

There is just a few spaces left for teams as companies across the south have already booked their places, including event sponsors Hendy Ford Group and Goadsby estate agents.

Cash raised at the event will support Southampton General Hospital's cardiac wards and the charity's Heartbeat House which offers free accommodation to families of heart patients so they can stay by their loved ones' bedsides while they are receiving treatment.

It costs £550 for a team of four, which includes refreshments, buggy hire and club cleaning.

For more information on how to take part or to sponsor the event call Wessex Heartbeat events manager Tina Richardson on 023 8070 6098.
