FIREFIGHTERS tackled vicious flames at a Hampshire home for more than three hours last night after a cooker exploded.

The blaze ripped through the kitchen of a home in Locks Heath and a crew of eight from Hightown Fire Station were called at 11.15pm to save the residents and put it out.

Nobody was injured during the incident but the kitchen has been completely destroyed by the explosion. A spokesman said that they would not be investigating the incident further.

He added: “The flames were very big when we got there so we spent a lot of time putting those out and then helping survey the damage, the whole kitchen is gone, lots of debris had blown out of the front of the house but luckily nobody was hurt.”
