CAPTAIN of South Wilts Tom Morton has become a Honorary Kiwi.

He turned out for New Zealand in a one-day warm-up match against Hampshire - and stole the show.

Morton opened the batting and made an unbeaten 31 of the Black Caps’ 48-1 before a cloudburst ended proceedings.

“I was amazed when Nathan McCullum asked me to open the batting.

“Facing Jackson Bird and my South Wilts’ teammate Ryan Duffield was an unreal experience. A new ball Australian State attack.

“But I felt really good and played some nice shots,” he said.

St Cross Symondians’ Michael Pollard was the Kiwi man out, brilliantly caught one-handed at slip by Joe Gatting off Bird’s bowling.

New Zealand are training at the Ageas Bowl in preparation for the start of the One-Day Series which begins at The Oval a week tomorrow.
