Last sighting of missing pensioner Michael Davies from Blaina in Wales

Mr Davies, aged 71, from Blaina in Wales was on holiday with his wife, visiting the island as part of a coach trip. He went missing from a hotel in Sandown on the evening of last Tuesday.

This CCTV footage shows him walking along Avenue Road in Sandown away from the seafront outside the Southern Co-operative store at 43 minutes past midnight on the morning of last Wednesday.

Michael, known as Mike to his family, is white with cropped white hair.

He was last seen wearing jeans, a horizontal striped blue and white T-shirt, a blue jumper with the number '95' on the front, and a cream coloured baseball cap.

Further enquiries have also established that Mr Davies was carrying a torch with him on the evening of his disappearance.

Specialist water search officers from Hampshire Constabulary are conducting enquiries in the area of reed beds near Sandown and Yaverland seafront today.

Police would like to thank all partner agencies, media organisations and members of the public, all of whom continue to help with searches, appeals and lines of enquiry.

There remains no evidence at this time to suggest Mr Davies has been the victim of a crime.

A key line of enquiry continues to be a specific appeal for members of the public on the island to check gardens, sheds, outbuildings or caravans.

It is possible Mike Davies sought refuge in the local area where he may have become confused, unwell and unable to call for help.

There is concern that Mike may not have access to blood pressure medication that he needs.

Please find below a reminder of the personal appeal issued on Tuesday (June 2, 2015) by two of Mike's grand-daughters, Ellinor Trigg, aged 24, and Kelly Davies, aged 31.

In a statement issued by Hampshire Constabulary, they said: "We'd like to say to Granch that everyone is thinking about you, we all miss you and want you to come home.

"We feel like we're in limbo right now, we can't do anything until we know where you've gone. Please get in contact to let us know you're alright.

"Our appeal to anyone who sees him is to introduce yourself gently to him. He may be confused and scared about why people are looking for him.

"Please reassure him that his family are looking for him, and to contact us through the police as soon as possible.

"Talk to Mike about his many interests and hobbies.

"He has a passion for old British motorbikes, pocket watches, cycling in Wales, old coin collections, and making ginger beer. He likes to watch the TV comedy programmes 'Only Fools and Horses' and 'Rab C Nesbitt.

"We'd like to thank everyone we met while on the Isle of Wight. They were fantastic and could not have done any more to help us when Mike was reported missing."
