FRIENDS and family will say their final goodbyes to a man who was found dead just months after his father died when a fire engulfed his home.

Clint Mason’s body was discovered by a neighbour in the shared passageway of Elizabeth House, where he was a tennant. The dad-of-seven was thought to have been there for five hours after he mysteriously died on May 10.

Now family and friends of the 44-year-old from Calmore will tomorrow pay their respects at a funeral at 2pm at Southampton Crematorium in Bassett Green Road.

It comes just seven months after a fire broke out in the home he grew up in while his parents Brent and Liz Mason were inside with three of their grandchildren.

Grandad-of-13 Brent, 66, who had suffered multiple strokes and could not walk unaided, had no time to escape from Yew Tree Cottage in the Drove, his home of 47 years.

Hampshire Coroners Office said they are still investigating Clint’s death, which is not being treated as suspicious by the police.
