A decision on plans to build 100 homes on a former school site was postponed last night.

Proposals for the homes on the Oaklands School site was withdrawn from the meeting agenda after “a late” request from Natural England for the council to undertake further assessments.

Council officer Sam Fox told the meeting that this was not a withdrawal of the plans by the developer, but simply a decision to adjourn the decision to allow further work on the item.

The application is for 62 flats and 41 houses, as well as 165 car parking spaces.
