A CAR has been engulfed by flames on the M27, causing rush hour chaos for motorists.

All lanes have now reopened near to the Rownhams services after the vehicle was moved to the hard shoulder.

Daily Echo:

A police spokesman said no other vehicle was involved and no-one was injured.

Traffic on the westbound carriageway of the M27 is currently backing up towards junction seven for Hedge End.

Police say there may also be delays on the eastbound carriageway.

Fire crews from Redbridge and St Mary’s fire stations were called to the scene.
