MORGAN Schneiderlin is set to travel with Saints on their pre-season trip to Austria – with Manchester United yet to come back in for the player after having a bid rejected two weeks ago.

The Reds made an offer for the midfielder, but it was not seen as a serious one by Saints, who dismissed it immediately.

Reports have suggested it was as much as £20m, with the club on the lookout for £5m more than that.

Koeman said Schneiderlin missed training today due to illness, but was due to train with the squad tomorrow and then fly out to Austria with them.

“We had two weeks ago a bid of Man United,” said the Saints manager. “It wasn’t enough, it wasn’t serious, and no more bids to today.

“Everybody knows the situation of Morgan. I understand the player, if he can get a good move to a big one, I can understand it, but I hope that if there is any business that it will be soon, because it’s best for the player, it’s best for us and we have to prepare ourselves for what we have to do if we sell the player.”

Koeman added: “I had a lot of meetings with Morgan.

“I had already a meeting last week with Morgan and everybody knows his situation, but it’s important for the player to do a good pre-season and we will see what happens the next few days.”
