A MAJOR Hampshire road has been brought to a standstill after a  two-car crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision on the A31 eastbound, west of the Stoney Cross roundabout, at about 1.30pm.

Three people were injured in the crash with one motorist taken to hospital but none of them are believed to have been seriously hurt.

Heavy traffic eastbound has been reported as far west as Ringwood while there are problems in the opposite direction between the crash site and Stoney Cross.

Anyone with information on the incident, which involved a BMW and a Peugeot, is asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101.
