Woman's body found in flat
The body of a woman has been found dead in a flat.
Hampshire Police cordoned off the flat in Newport on the Isle of Wight following the discovery yesterday.
They say that a 53-year-old man is helping them with their inquiries.
The flat in the town’s Barton Road has been cordoned off so that forensic officers can examine the property.
Police were called at 12.40pm yesterday.
A statement posted by Isle of Wight police on Twitter said: “Following the discovery of a woman’s body at a premises in Newport, we have arrested a 53-year-old man, who is helping us with our inquiries.”
