MOTORISTS are facing long delays on the motorway this morning, due to a traffic light fault.
Queues have formed for drivers heading west, approaching junction three of the M27, as far back as junction 5 for Eastleigh and Southampton Airport.
There is a wait of more than 20 minutes for anyone wishing to leave the M27 to join the M271, and delays of 15 minutes for anyone heading north on the M271 out of the city.
Furthermore, a vehicle fire between junctions one and two of the M27 is causing problems for motorists there.
The coach caught fire on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway, between junctions one and two.
Police say the fire was caused by overheated brakes, but all passengers were moved to another coach.
One lane is currently closed while emergency services tackle the blaze, and traffic is building up on the other lanes of the carriageway.
And people travelling on to the Rushington roundabout in Totton from the south west may also face a wait due to a broken down vehicle at the entrance to the roundabout.
