THE winner of a £56,800 Lotto prize has come forward, following an appeal.

Camelot, the company that runs The National Lottery, said no-one had claimed the winning tickets for the Lotto draw of July 18. The ticket was purchased in Basingstoke.

In a statement, a spokesman for The National Lottery said that details of the winner cannot be released without their agreement.

He added: “We’re delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win.

“It would have been awful if the ticket holder had missed out on this substantial and life-enhancing amount of money.

“We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play.”
