THEY are the team behind the TV show which shot Susan Boyle, Diversity and other household names to fame.

Now producers from Britain’s Got Talent will search for the next big star – in Southampton.

There is still time for you to grasp a golden chance to impress them.

Crews from FreemantleMedia will return to the city for the climax of Southampton’s Got Talent finale tomorrow.

Teams from the London-based international entertainment company initially visited the smaller contest’s big night at the Saints Pub in Millbrook, pictured, last year to film the singers, musicians and dancers.

But now the Southampton head honcho says the producers are considering showcasing some of their favourite local acts in their forthcoming series’ auditions – if they feel they can make the grade.

Now in its fifth year, Southampton’s Got Talent features 26 hopefuls ranging from soloists and groups of all ages, plus a magician all battling it out for a £1,000 cash prize.

They will be judged by a high profile panel headed by Southampton's former Olympic silver medal winning diver Peter Waterfield, Aaron Gilbert of band Delays, singer Steve Rutherford of the HiWatts group and talent producer Mandy Driver.

Event organiser and pub landlord Eugene McManus said the endorsement boosts the show and says there is still time for people to audition on the night.

He said: “It is a testament to the quality of the event we put on here.

“The production team previously visited and filmed the acts but now they want to go a step forward and witness the event.

“We still have spaces and it is a fantastic opportunity for someone to hopefully get national exposure.

“We know Southampton has produced a lot of musical talent and it is creeping up the M3 as people are becoming more aware of it.

“We want people to come down and see what talent exists in Southampton as whatever their tastes are in entertainment there will be something for everybody.”

The show is at 1pm at the pub in Kendal Avenue.
