HOW could anyone dump these two kittens?

That is the question a Hampshire cat charity is asking after the two kittens were found abandoned on the doorstep of its volunteeers.

The male and female, were left in a filthy semi-sealed holdall with no food or water in Winchester

However a volunteer at the Winchester Cats Protection who lives in Weeke, acted quickly, and got them checked over by a vet and they are in good health have since been vaccinated and microchipped.

The moggies, who have not yet been named by the charity, are about nine or ten weeks old and are described as playful.

Treasurer of the Winchester Cats Protection Graham Barber said it is the first time in years that kittens have been dumped in Winchester.

Daily Echo:

Mr Barber, said: “The person who dumped the cats had clearly heard of us and saw the address online.

“So it could have been a lot worse, they could have been drowned or put in boxes, so luckily someone did take the trouble to find out where our co-ordinator lives, however the manner it was done was upsetting.”

“We have not experienced this kind of episode for a very long time, usually responsible people get in touch with us and we always do everything in our power to help.”

“We thought the days of cats being dumped were gone and are just hoping this is a one-off.”

Volunteers at Winchester Cats Protection are also concerned that other kittens could be in the area and may be born from the same mother, so they are offering to arrange to have the mother neutered to prevent further unwanted kittens.
