A COASTGUARD search was launched yesterday at a Southampton bridge after a report of someone in the water.
A coastguard spokesman said the incident near Cobden Bridge is ‘on-going’.
The spokesman said: “We had a report of someone in the water but no-one has been found.”
The search has now been called off.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard, said: “Calshot RNLI lifeboat, Southampton coastguard team and a rescue helicopter responded to a call saying a person was struggling in the water.
“An extensive search was carried out but nothing untoward was found.”
