LIFEBOATS rushed to help an unconscious woman in The Solent today.
Cowes Lifeboat was called to the 40-foot yacht Omert where an 84-year-old woman was reported unconscious at around midday.
The boat was anchored in Newtown Estuary and the Lee-on-the-Solent helicopter was also dispatched to the scene.
By the time the helicopter arrived the woman, from Surrey, had regained consciousness but was disoriented.
She was airlifted to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
Meanwhile the crew of the Omerta arranged for the other 10 people on the boat to be taken to Lymington via an inflatable boat.
