CULTURE vultures in Southampton are being urged to take part in a discussion about the future of the city’s new arts complex.

The £25m venue is set for completion next year and a free forum event is taking place at the Nuffield Theatre on September 26.

It will run from 10.30am to 2.30pm and is described as an “open and honest forum...where participants can bring their ideas to the table and have the opportunity to discuss what the future looks like for the arts in Southampton”.

As previously reported, the new venue in Guildhall Square will provide facilities for City Eye, the John Hansard Gallery and the Nuffield.

It will also boast a number of restaurants, bars and posh apartments and is expected to create more than 300 jobs.

However it was revealed earlier this year that the cost of fitting out the venue had gone over-budget by £2m, which is being funded by the city council.

Anyone wanting to take part in the forum should email aidan.grounds@nuffieldtheatre.co.uk or call 02380 315500, extension 233.
