BOOZE could soon be on sale at receptions and events at a £140m new technology centre at the University of Southampton.
A bid to sell alcohol on certain occasions at the new Lloyd's Register Global Technology Centre has been filed with the city council.
As previously reported shipping giant Lloyd's Register will have moved all 400 of its marine staff to the site by November.
It will be part of the biggest university and industry collaboration of its kind in the world and it is hoped it will lead to ground-breaking new research.
The application is for alcohol to be served on site at certain events and receptions.
A decision on the application to sell alcohol between 11am and 10.30pm is due from the city council in September.
