ADVENTURERS are being called to lead people off the sofa and into the great outdoors.

Deadly 60 presenter and naturalist Steve Backshall, endurance adventurer Sean Conway and mountaineer Bonita Norris are recruiting a team of ambassadors of all ages and abilities to help take the helm of a campaign encouraging people to explore Britain.

The ambassadors of the Ordnance Survey's #GetOutside campaign will attend a year-long series of events, take part in photoshoots and product trials and blog, Tweet and share their thoughts and experiences of the British countryside on social media.

And to help with their work, the team will each get a goodie bag that includes full access to OS's new OS Maps, clothes, £200 in sponsorship and discount at OS's online shop.

Steve Backshall said: “Britain is amazing, and OS is giving people who have a passion for being outside a fantastic chance to share that enthusiasm with others and to get them loving and caring for it, too.

"There’s no excuse. If you love being outside and wonder why others are not getting outside more too, then as an OS champion you’ll have the opportunity to do something about it.”

To nominate someone as a #GetOutside champion email getoutside@os.uk with 250 words explaining why they would be a great ambassador and include links to their social media accounts. A head and shoulders photograph and a picture of them taking part in an activity should also be attached.

It is possible to nominate yourself.
