A NEWLYWED who died in a crash involving a fire engine is to be laid to rest this week.
Family and friends will say their farewells to Darren Harvey, who died in the collision in the New Forest, at Wessex Vale Crematorium in West End on Tuesday at 12.30pm.
The father-of-two was driving his Ford Puma when it was in collision with the fire engine returning from an emergency call on the A337 between Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst at around 11pm on August 22.
The 25-year-old, of Portsmouth Road, Woolston, had only been married seven weeks when he died of his injuries at the scene.
Mourners have been asked to wear an item of blue clothing to reflect the mechanic’s love of Ford cars. Donations in Darren’s memory can be made to Coeliac UK. c/o Waterside Funerals, 13-15 The Marsh, Hythe.
