DOZENS of fire fighters were called to a thatched roof fire at a property in Hampshire last night.

Seven crews from across Hampshire were sent to Baughurst, near Tadley, where they fought to put out a blaze in the roof.

More than 40 fire fighters from Basingstoke, Tadley, Kingsclere, Rushmoor, Overton fire stations and a crew from Redbridge were dispatched to the scene at about 9pm.

All the occupants were out of the property by the time the fire fighters turned up and no one was injured.

Fire fighters worked hard over night to strip the property of thatched roofing and put out the blaze.
