AN INVESTIGATION has started into a burglary at a north Hampshire fire station in which life-saving equipment was stolen.

Police said items taken from Kingsclere fire station, in George Street, include a Clan Lukas hydraulic spreader, cutter and ram, with a petrol pack.

They have released a picture of the machinery as part of an appeal for information.

A pedal cutter and yellow Jafco bolt cutters were also stolen.

Some of the items taken are used by firefighters to free injured people from cars involved in crashes.

The break-in took place between 4pm on Friday, September 11 and 1pm on Saturday, September 12.
