POLICE are continuing to investigate the death of a motorcyclist found by the side of a Hampshire road.

The 58-year-old man was found by a member of the public at the side of Newgate Lane, in Fareham, with his motorcycle in the middle of the road.

Police are appealing for witnesses but say he appears to have come off his motorbike, a black Triumph Rocket Roadster, as he left Fort Fareham Industrial Estate.

The South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) were called to the scene by a member of the public but the man pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

Anyone who has information on the incident, reported to police at 2.30pm on Thursday, can call police on 101.
