Romsey Rapids in 1990
IT has been entertaining Hampshire for families for 25 years.
And as Romsey Rapids celebrates its quarter-century milestone, the Daily Echo looks back at how the swimming pool and fitness centre has changed over the years.
The Echo was there when the £4.8m Rapids was first opened by Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, in summer 1990.
Since then it has gone on to attract more than 500,000 visitors through its doors each year.
As reported by the Daily Echo, staff and guests celebrated the anniversary with a party last week.
