POLICE are investigating after a 21-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a jeep.
The fatal crash happened just before 2.40pm yesterday and the 70-year-old driver of the Jeep Cherokee has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The 21-year-old rider of the motorcycle, Reese Mitchell from Brading, Isle of Wight, was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.
Officers investigating the circumstances of the crash are keen to speak to anyone who saw the Jeep and two motorcycles before the collision.
The incident happened on Military Road, Atherfield, on the Isle of Wight, and the road is still closed while police investigate.
