AN ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD boy remains in a critical condition after being hit by a car.

Felix Barrow was struck by the Toyota Yaris as he went to school in Swanmore on Wednesday (Oct 7).

The air ambulance and other emergency services were called to the scene outside his home in Hill Pound and he was rushed to Southampton General Hospital.

His grandmother Jean Reynolds told the Daily Echo that he suffered a broken leg and elbow and had been put in an induced coma.

Victoria Weston, Winchester city councillor for Swanmore has led calls for new safety measures to be introduced to prevent a repeat of the crash.

Hampshire Constabulary is urging anyone with information on the incident to contact Sergeant Wayne Voller of the South East Hampshire Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Silkworm.
