STUCK for ideas on how to have the perfect Hallowe'en experience this year?

We've put together a comprehensive list of all the scary goings on around the county today from family shows to haunted walks.

There really is something to ensure everyone has a happy Hallowe'en.

October 31

  • Fancy dress party, with games, activates and cakes for children aged four to 11, St James Church in St James Rd, Southampton from 4.45pm to 6pm, admission free.
  • An evening of apple bobbing and family activities will be at the centre of the Freemantle Baptist Church’s alternative Hallowe'en.

The free event at the church on Testwood Road, will start at 5pm on October 31.

  • Apple bobbing and ghoulish face painting are among the activities at Slice Hair, Wells Place, Eastleigh, on Saturday, October 31.

The company is running activities from 9am-4.30pm to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis charity.

  • Children’s fancy dress competition with the winner receiving a trick or treat goodie bag.

The free competition is held at the Boutique Village, on Third Avenue, Southampton all day on October 31.

  • Halloween village, Locks Heath Shopping Village will be transformed into a ghost town with face painters on hand to change your children into pumpkins. The ghouls will come out from 11am on October 31.
  • A celebration of mind, body and spirit at Jubilee Hall, Little Shore Lane, Bishop's Waltham, with tarot readings, crystals, incense and live Indian dance.

Entry costs £3 with the event running from 10am – 4pm.

  • Pumpkin parade, Children will be given the chance to see their drawings be carved into pumpkins ahead of a night of trick or treating in Bishop’s Waltham.

A stall in the High Street will give children the chance to draw up their unique designs. The stall will be open from 4.30pm to 5.30pm on October 31.

  • Children can do the monster mash at a Hallowe'en disco at Swanmore Village Hall. An evening of fancy dress and spooky games.

Ages four to seven have their own party from 4.30pm to 6pm, while ages seven to 13 are welcome from 6.15pm to 7.45pm. Entry is £2.50 for the event on October 31.

  • Discover the terrifying secrets of Southampton with a guided walk around the city. Starting at the Holyrood Church from 7pm, on October 31. The walk costs £5 per person.
  • The undead will be roaming the streets of Winchester this Halloween, on October 31.

Starting at the Royal Oak pub, on Royal Oak Passage, with a zombie outbreak at 5pm and concluding with a ghost walk at 9pm. Tickets for the horror walk are £6, to book call 07516 103 947.

  • Famed for having some of the most documented Victorian ghost stories, take a guided walk around the grounds of the Hinton Ampner estate.

This haunting experience starts at 7pm – 00.30am, on October 30. Tickects cost £25, to book call 01962 771 305.
