IT'S the world's most exclusive snack - and it's been created by a Southampton chef.

The luxury snack boxes are worth £233.70 each and include four healthy treats made using the most advanced culinary techniques and finest British ingredients.

Ingredients for the four gourmet snacks include West coast of Scotland lobster puffs, horseradish styrofoam, British corn-fed chicken skin popcorn and hand-picked sweet cicely.

Michelin-starred Simon Rogan, who cooks at Fera at Claridge's in Mayfair, London and grew up in Shirley Warren, collaborated with healthy snack food company 'graze.'

While graze snack boxes usually cost £3.99, Mr Rogan's 'graze X' boxes would cost £223.70 - an increase of 5,500 per cent.

Just 100 editions will be given away for free today to celebrate graze's 1,500th recipe for their healthy snack boxes.

Mr Rogan, who started his career cooking chips and kebabs in a Southampton Greek restaurant, also cooks at two Michelin starred restaurant L'Enclume in Cartmel, Cumbria, and The French at The Midland Hotel in Manchester.

He spent six months researching, developing and perfecting the snacks and made each one by hand using advanced culinary techniques.

Mr Rogan's four recipes: 1. Grilled Salad: Cartmel-farmed cauliflower, kale, freeze-dried Isle of Mull cheddar, garlic, chilli and sunflower seeds.

2. West Coast of Scotland Lobster and Horseradish Styrofoam: Lobster puffs, horseradish styrofoam, beetroot, apple and tarragon.

3. Salt and Vinegar British Corn-fed Chicken Popcorn: Crispy chicken skin with salt and vinegar half popped corn 4. Mascarpone, raspberry and hazelnut biscuit: Freeze-dried mascarpone, raspberry strings, pear, hand-picked sweet cicely and hazelnut biscuit.

Mr Rogan, whose restaurant L'Enclume has finished in first place in the Good Food Guide for the past three years, said: "It's not something I've ever done before, but when asked I said yes immediately.

"The challenge of marrying Michelin starred techniques, fresh foods and flavours, combining this with the precise graze punnet formula is a food feat that's never been achieved before.

"I took inspiration from the food we serve at Fera at Claridge's and L'Enclume and then worked with the graze team to explore the recreation of beautiful British flavours into the new snacks. "Ensuring the balance of ingredients and delicate flavour combinations into a smaller snack format has been a great challenge and I'm really pleased with the final recipes."

Ele Freeman, from graze, said: "To celebrate reaching the 1,500 recipe milestone, we wanted to take our reputation for making the tastiest snacks that bit further and create something truly extraordinary - something money can't buy.

"The graze X Simon Rogan box pushes the boundaries of everything we've done before.

"Handmade and containing luxury ingredients, including lobster and black truffle oil - we can't put a price on this really special collaboration, which is why we're giving 100 away in our one-off ballot.

"We are so proud of this project. Simon Rogan has been marked out as the best chef in Britain.

"He continues to achieve and push the boundaries at the very top of British cuisine - it's a fitting collaboration for graze to push ourselves and further explore what might be possible for the future of our snack combinations."
