POLICE have launched an investigation after “unacceptable” offensive graffiti was scrawled on a Hampshire Territorial Army building.
Four reports were made at locations in Basingstoke and officers are keen to track down those responsible.
Two of the incidents happened at the Territorial Army building on Penrith Road on the nights of Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21.
The others happened at Maplin in Winchester Road on November 20 and on a wall at All Saints Church in Southern Road on Saturday night.
PC Lee Stanbrook said: “Incidents like this are unacceptable and can cause great offence to the communities concerned.
“Anyone who engages in such an activity is committing a criminal offence which could lead to a custodial sentence.
“Such incidents are rare in Basingstoke and we will continue to work hard to make sure anyone living in, working in or visiting the borough feels safe.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Stanbrook at Basingstoke police station on 101 and quote reference number 44150404807 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
