A FESTIVAL will see scores of decorated Christmas trees and musical performances over two days.

Television celebrity Dan Snow, a presenter on the BBC's One Show will officially open the Music and Christmas Tree Festival that includes around 30 trees decorated by local organisations.

The event is taking place at St James Road Methodist Church in Shirley and the money it raises will go towards the church funds and the Honeypot Children’s Charity.

There will also see musical performances from the likes of Rock Choir, Southampton Ukulele Jam and from local schools.

The festival begins on Friday, December 4, with Dan Snow opening it as well as choir performances from local schools and a magician.

On Saturday December 5, there will be musical performances as well as a range of crafts, home-baked cakes, refreshments, a prize raffle and Father Christmas himself will be there.

The festival will end on the Saturday with a spectacular concert.

Admission to the festival is free but concert tickets cost £8 or £5 for concessions and can be reserved by emailing raekibble@hotmail.com.
