POLICE are warning the public not to approach a wanted man.

Officers are hunting for Rashpal Sanghera and want to the public's help in tracking him down.

The 31-year-old, who lives in Southampton is wanted for failing to appear at court last week on an assault charge and he is also now being recalled to prison.

Sanghera, also known as Sonny, is described as Asian, 5ft 6in tall, of medium build, with dark brown hair and may have short stubble or a beard.

Police want to hear from anyone who recognises him and has seen him recently.

PC Danielle Clarke from the Western Investigations Team said: "We are conducting our own enquiries to find Sanghera but we are appealing to members of the public for assistance.

“Mr Sanghera is believed to still be in Southampton and I would ask anyone who sees him not to approach him."

Police are warning that associates and friends found to be helping Sanghera to avoid arrest or harbouring him may be committing an offence and will be liable for arrest and a term of imprisonment.
