ROBBERS made off with thousands of pounds after a raid on a cash van in Southampton.
A man is believed to have approached a worker carrying a cash box and demanded they hand over the box before a struggle broke out.
The alleged offender then left the scene with the money after the incident.
It happened at about 10.09am yesterday behind the large Sainsbury’s superstore in Bitterne, Southampton.
He fled in a blue BMW that was recovered by police a short time later.
No weapons were seen and the van driver was not injured.
Investigations are ongoing and officers are asking any witnesses or anyone with information to contact DC Jonathan Matthews at Southampton CID on 101.
