A HOSPITAL radio service has recorded its 500th Musical Memories show for a Hampshire care home.
Presenters at New Forest Hospital Radio (NFHR) took it in turns to introduce music tracks requested by residents of Solent Mead in Church Lane, Lymington.
NFHR vice-chairman celebrated the milestone by providing a cake and refreshments during the recording. The first hour-long fortnightly show was recorded on October 7, 2004.
Lists of musical requests are emailed weekly by Solent Meads events organiser Wendy Elkins. Recorded shows are delivered on CD broadcast to about 20 regular listeners in the residents’ lounges.
The show is also broadcast to patients at Lymington New Forest Hospital every Sunday.
NFHR would like to hear from any potential volunteers interested in helping to run the radio station.
Offers of help could include either by presenting, collecting requests or preparing the nightly hospital request shows.
Call the station on 01590 663366 or email studio@nfhradio.org.uk.
