SHOLING welcome Lymington Town to the Silverlake Arena on Saturday for their first Sydenhams Premier outing of 2016 – dependent on the condition of the pitch.

The Boatmen’s Russell Cotes Cup clash against Gosport Borough last night saw treacherous conditions turn the playing surface into a mud bath as the visitors ran out 6-3 winners, writes Danny Maiorca

Sholing, currently fifth, have not played a league match since December 19 due to postponements.

And if Saturday's game gets the go-ahead, they will be out for revenge having already lost twice to Lymington this term.

Lymo won 4-2 at the Sports Ground in Ocober, ending Sholing's nine-game unbeaten run.

They also knocked Dave Diaper’s side out of the Southampton Senior Cup in December, triumphing 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Young striker Nick Yeomans will look to keep his place in the Boatmen's starting XI after scoring his first ever senior hat-trick on Wednesday.

Jamie Bulpitt missed that game through suspension but is now eligible, while top-scorer Dan Mason and brother Byron were absent with chest infections.

Goalkeeper Ryan Gosney is likely to start after being rested for the Russell Cotes tie, while Pete Castle will also be available after missing the Gosport clash due to a corporate evening at St Mary’s Stadium.
