RESIDENTS in two Hampshire villages are urging developers to be more “mindful” following complaints over the impact of building work on parish roads and verges.
Residents in Shawford and Compton have complained over cars parking on verges in both villages. To tackle this, new guidance by Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council will be included in future planning consents.
It will urge developers to be respectful to neighbours and ensure each site is organised, clean and tidy and facilities, stored materials, vehicles and plant are located to minimise disruption.
It asks developers to inform residents of the works and minimise light, air and noise pollution and lessen the impact of deliveries, parking and working on public or private roads and to repair damages as quickly as possible.
