EVENTS are taking place at libraries in Southampton to mark National Libraries Day today.

All sessions are free.

Central Library

10.30am to 2.30pm: Super Stripes and Zany Zebras competition session for three to eight-year-olds to design for the zebra currently on display in Central Library Noon to 1pm: Performance by Blue Sky Community Choir followed by a singing taster session for adults.

Noon to 1.15pm and 1.30-2.45pm: Code Kingdom session for six to 13-year-olds to try out coding skills, design their own lands and code friendly animals and defeat unfriendly glitches in the Code Kingdoms universe.

Portswood Library

10am to 3pm: Super Stripes and Zany Zebras competition session for three to eight-year-olds to design for the zebra currently on display in Central Library.

Cobbett Road Library

11am to noon: Super Stripes and Zany Zebras competition session for three to eight-year-olds to design for the zebra currently on display in Central Library.

Bitterne Library

10.30am to noon: Choral Clans family singing workshop.

1-3pm: Robo Hack event for all ages where you can learn how to use technology to create interactive electronic objects, create Jitterbugs and see a robotic arm in action. A book hunt competition will start today until February 20 where children aged three and older must hunt for books and there will be a prize draw to find a winner, with a mystery prize to be won.

Shirley Library

11am-noon: Children and their families will take part in a mass singing event after learning ten children’s rhymes.

Burgess Road Library

11.15am to 11.45am: Story time and craft activities where children can create crafts such as flower hats, book flowers and butterflies to take home.
