A SPECIALIST bra firm from Hampshire is giving support to cancer charity.

Amoena, whose HQ is in Chandler’s Ford, donated a laptop to Wessex Cancer Trust (WCT) to condition.

The gift was funded through the sale of Amoena’s bras and swimwear at breast cancer support groups.

Amoena has announced that it will be providing ongoing support to WCT.

The company’s marketing manager, Rhoda White, said: “In many cases, women are so shocked when they receive their diagnosis that they can’t think what to ask their medical team. Later they find they have a thousand questions and they really need someone to turn to.

“WCT’s volunteers do an amazing job and we’re planning to work much more closely with the charity to provide additional resources to help them support women with breast cancer.”

The charity’s volunteers are equipped with a special sample box containing a range of Amoena items, including a breast form and post-surgery bra and swimsuit, for women to see and try.

The firm will be training WCT volunteers so that they are able to answer the types of questions that women often ask after diagnosis.

WCT’s director of services Sara Hawkins said: “We are extremely grateful to receive this gift of a laptop. We truly believe that consistently improving communication is a major factor in providing quality services and reassurance to clients.

"We can now offer people the opportunity to research their conditions and decide for themselves what support they need from the comfort of our cancer support centre.

"We can also track their feedback to know that we are providing services of the highest and most relevant quality.

“We aim to provide the information and support that women want, and we are delighted to be working with Amoena to help ensure our volunteers have all they need to do just that.”
