POLICE are hunting thieves who made off with a lifeline mobility scooter.
The navy blue scooter, which had been left to its current owner by their late father, was stolen from Crabwood Road in Maybush.
It was later found abandoned with significant damage to the central control panel.
The incident happened between 7am on February 7 and 1.20am on February 8.
Now the police are calling for anyone with any information to come forward.
Police Constable Steve Antrobus said: “The scooter has been found by the owner with significant damage and this has caused a great deal of distress due to the sentimental value of the vehicle, as it belonged to his late father.
“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously around the time of the theft? We have issued a photograph of the scooter – did you see anyone with this blue mobility scooter in the area?”
Anyone with information can contact PC Antrobus on 101 quoting 44160058365, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
